WATER HARVESTING FOR CLIMATE-smart landscaping

 

Woodard & Curran Foundation is pleased to support Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI)'s Cleantech and Water Innovation Youth Program. LACI will empower students with practical solutions for leading awater-efficient lifestyle, helping them educate their communities to understanding Southern California’s ongoing water issues. LACI will host 120+ students at the La Kretz Innovation Campus during a two- part water conservation workshop: part one will include presentations by the Los Angeles Department of Water (LADWP) and an in-house water entrepreneur; part two is to be a competition, where student groups propose a business plan to educate their communities about ways to conserve water.

PROJECT SUMMARY

 The project is an Integrated STEAM approach that will expose students to innovation and engage them in water conservation and entrepreneurship through a tour of the La Kretz Innovation Campus and a group business competition building collaborative problem solving, with the goal of raising
community leadership of water conservation in underrepresented communities of the Greater Los Angeles Region.
